"What could make this night more perfect?"

As I was trying to think of a "sexy" commercial that I could write about that wasn't already discussed, I began wandering around youtube. One thing I noticed about all of the ads that came on before the videos was that they were all beer commercials. The next thing I noticed was that the majority of these beer commercials used sexy half-naked ladies to sell their product. To be honest, I was kind of annoyed by this time. I can't find anything sexy about alcohol, especially when it involves throwing up and hooking up with random people. But that's the point of using sex appeal in the commerical then right? To make people think that by drinking alcohol they can hook up with sexy people who have inhibited their common sense just as much as you have...

Then I came across what shocked me most: a beer commercial using a fully-naked woman to sell their product.

To be honest, I was apalled by this video (after I finished laughing). Now fortunately, this video has been banned. Not soon enough, however, as it aired on television during the 2007 Super Bowl at which point the entire country had its eyes fixed on the television. This commercial does the ultimate in inappropriateness, especially with how close it gets to revealing more than just a pair of legs. This commercial tells men everywhere that Bud can get a sexy woman to go skinny dipping at a party with you; and much much more. It also tells people that this kind of beer gets people so wild that they will do crazy things that expose themselves to your wanting eyes. Both of these messages appeal to the carnal desire to be wild as well as the desire for sex. Being that men are extremely visual, just seeing this kind of commercial is enough to get their blood boiling. For the women however, its not that simple. Which is exactly why the woman in the commercial says, "Look, the moon is out. What could make this night more perfect?" appealing to every woman's desire for the emotional, perfect night.

But Psalm 20:1 tells us this, "Wine is a mocker, strong drink a brawler, and whoever is led astray by it is not wise." We should not let our desire for sexuality take over our minds and hearts, and by getting drunk we open ourselves up to being overcome by our desires. Some of my fellow Christians may gasp at this, but I don't see anything wrong with drinking when you are of the legal age and in moderation (Hey, Jesus drank wine). However Psalm tells us not to allow it to lead us astray by getting drunk and giving in to your temptations. This is when commercials, such as the Bud commercial, become dangerous rather than comical.
